Thrombin-activated human peripheral blood platelets were stained with purified anti-human CD63 recombinant (clone H5C6.Rec) (filled histogram) or purified mouse IgG1, κ isotype control (open histogram), followed by goat anti-mouse IgG PE.
CD63, also referred to as LIMP, LAMP-3, gp55, TSPAN30, and melanoma-associated antigen ME491, is a 53 kD type III lysosomal-associated glycoprotein. As a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily (TM4SF) of proteins known as tetraspanins, CD63 is broadly expressed on activated platelets as well as monocytes/macrophages, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, osteoclasts, and smooth muscle cells. It is implicated in platelet activation and is proposed to function as a transmembrane adaptor protein through interaction with other tetraspanins such as CD9 and CD81, and integrins including VLA-3 (α3β1) and VLA-6 (α6β1).

- Recommended Usage
-
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
