Recombinant Mouse CD7 (Cat. No. 588404; black circles) binds to immobilized Recombinant Mouse SECTM1a-Fc Chimera (Cat. No. 799404). Ultra-LEAF™ Purified anti-mouse CD7 (clone S23010C, purple squares) inhibits the binding in a dose-response manner, whereas Ultra-LEAF™ Purified Rat IgG1, κ Isotype Control (Cat. No. 400431, gray triangles) has no inhibitory effect. This antibody blocks the binding of 0.1 µg/mL Recombinant Mouse CD7 to 5.0 µg/mL of immobilized Recombinant Mouse SECTM1a-Fc Chimera. The ND50 range to observe this effect is: 0.25 – 2.5 µg/mL.

Description

CD7, a member of the Ig superfamily, is a 40-kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein containing a single Ig domain. It is expressed in T cell precursors, mature T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, myeloid precursors, plasmacytoid dendritic cells (DCs), pre-B cells, and various leukemic cells. Mouse CD7 consists of 210 amino acids, with the mature protein comprising residues 24-210 and featuring a 127-amino acid extracellular domain. Like CD28, the intracellular domain contains a YEEM motif that activates the PI3K signaling pathway. Treatment anti-CD7, in conjunction with anti-CD3 or PMA, demonstrates that CD7 is mitogenic for human T cells and induces IL-2 production.
Additionally, a CD7-, CD4+ subpopulation of memory T cells has been shown to accumulate in skin lesions associated with chronic inflammatory conditions. CD7 is overexpressed in T lymphocytes infiltrating classical Hodgkin lymphoma and is highly expressed in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Consequently, CD7 has become a target for novel therapeutic approaches, such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy.

Neut - Quality tested

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is tested by neutralizing the binding of 0.1 μg/mL recombinant mouse CD7 (Cat. No. 588404) to 5.0 µg/mL immobilized recombinant mouse SECTM1a-Fc chimera (Cat. No. 799404). ND50 range: 0.25 – 2.5 µg/mL. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Related FAQs

Do you guarantee that your antibodies are totally pathogen free?

BioLegend does not test for pathogens in-house aside from the GoInVivo™ product line. However, upon request, this can be tested on a custom basis with an outside, independent laboratory.

Does BioLegend test each Ultra-LEAF™ antibody by functional assay?

No, BioLegend does not test Ultra-LEAF™ antibodies by functional assays unless otherwise indicated. Due to the possible complexities and variations of uses of biofunctional antibodies in different assays and because of the large product portfolio, BioLegend does not currently perform functional assays as a routine QC for the antibodies. However, we do provide references in which the antibodies were used for functional assays and we do perform QC to verify the specificity and quality of the antibody based on our strict specification criteria.

Does BioLegend test each Ultra-LEAF™ antibody for potential pathogens?

No, BioLegend does not test for pathogens in-house unless otherwise indicated. However, we can recommend an outside vendor to perform this testing as needed.

Have you tested this Ultra-LEAF™ antibody for in vivo or in vitro applications?

We don't test our antibodies for in vivo or in vitro applications unless otherwise indicated. Depending on the product, the TDS may describe literature supporting usage of a particular product for bioassay. It may be best to further consult the literature to find clone specific information.
